Lawrence homicide suspect Sarah McLinn now in custody at the Douglas County Jail

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The 19-year-old accused of murdering her 52-year-old roommate is now in custody at the Douglas County Jail.

Sarah McLinn was found illegally camping in the Everglades National Park after Lawrence police put out a missing person's alert. 

McLinn faces a first-degree murder charge for killing Harold Sasko with what police describe an "edged instrument."

Douglas County authorities transferred McLinn from Florida to Kansas. They arrived at the Douglas County Jail early Saturday morning.

McLinn is expected to appear in front of a Douglas County judge on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
