One dead after officer-involved shooting in Kansas City, Mo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Police on Sunday evening identified the man shot to death by an officer early Sunday morning as 25-year-old Ryan L. Stokes of Kansas City, Mo.
At about 3 a.m. Sunday, officers received information about a theft in the area of 13th Street and Grand Boulevard. After arriving at the scene and locating a suspect, now identified as Stokes, the man led police on a short foot chase.
Officers said when they confronted Stokes, he pulled out a gun.
An officer ordered Stokes to drop the gun, but, when Stokes failed to do so, the officer shot him.
Stokes was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
