One person shot and killed in early morning shooting in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one person dead at the Trail's End Ranch.

Authorities responded to a shooting call around 4:15 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived they found an after-hours gathering at the Kansas City, Kan. ranch.

When police arrived, they found Alexander D. Herron, 24, with a fatal gun shot wound.

Since the ranch is tucked away on a dead-end road, neighbors never knew what was going on, but say they frequently see people going up the road to the ranch located in the 3700 block of N. 47 th Terrace.

"They ride their horses up and down the street all the time," said James Luke, who lives down the street. "Most everyone that comes out of there are as friendly as can be."

A check of business entities registered with the Kansas Secretary of State's office found no listing for the Trail's End Ranch.

Police questioned people at the scene, but if you have any information, you are asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS (8477).
