Police: Suspicious package at Kansas City's Union Station an empty box

Scene cleared just after 10:30 a.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Police Department bomb and arson has a used water cannon on a suspicious package at Kansas City's Union Station.

Authorities tell 41 Action News the package was found at the south entrance of the building, 30 W. Pershing Road, and has been rendered harmless. They confirmed that at was an empty box.

The building was evacuated around 8 a.m. and authorities blocked off Pershing Road.

A bomb robot was then deployed to the area where the package was found, just outside the building.

Police cleared the scene around 10:30 a.m.
