Family Dollar at Troost and Meyer reopens after rat problem

The Family Dollar at Troost and Meyer has reopened.

The Kansas City Health Department closed the store on Aug. 23 after inspectors found a pest problem.

Health inspectors found the rats during the third re-inspection of thestore. Inspectors said the infestation showed no signs of improvement from earlier inspections..

The inspector noted rat hair, urine and feces on store shelves throughout the store. The inspector also noted chewed food and soap, as well as pet food packages chewed open.
