Kai, a homeless hitchhiker, takes on self-proclaimed 'Jesus' with hatchet

FRESNO, Calif. - A homeless California hitchhiker is crediting with saving the day after a bizarre car crash.

The hitchhiker named Kai gave a colorful account of how he used the blunt end of a hatchet to stop a man, who claimed to be jesus, from hurting others.

The profanity-laced video has gotten more than a hundred-thousand views on YouTube.

"He's like, "You know what? I've come to realize I'm Jesus Christ and I can do anything I (expletive deleted) want to, and watch this.' Bam! And he smashed into this (expletive deleted) guy right there. Pinned him in between that (expletive deleted) truck."

Kai was in the passenger seat of a nearby car when this all went down.

Tonya Baker, and her daughter, Ginger Miller Parraza were two of the first to run over and help.

"My mom ran over to the driver to make sure he was okay because we thought maybe it was just an accident or something, and I ran straight to the PG&E man."

This was far from an accident and the ordeal was far from over.

"The guy just went crazy and was trying to pull the guy from underneath the car and the truck," Baker said. "Then he gets in the car and tries to move the car and that. And we weren't going to let him do it."

"If he would've started driving that car around again, man, they're would've been hell a lot of bodies around here," Kai said.l

"He just kept saying he was Jesus Christ and he's going to save all of us," Kai said. "He used the 'n' word meaning the black people, and he said we need to get them off the earth."

The African American PG&E worker was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

And he wasn't the only person that the driver went after.

"He put me in a bear hug and started beating the crap out of me," Kai said. "For what reason? We still don't know."

"These two woman are trying to help and he runs up and grabs one of them," Kai said. "A guy that big can snap a woman's neck like a pencil stick. So, I ran up behind him with a hatchet, smash! Smash! Smash!"

And that's what Baker said saved her life. The driver is described as a big man - over 6 feet tall, and 300 to 400 pounds.

Kai didn't' care.

"That woman was in danger, he just finished, what looked at the time, killing somebody and if i hadn't done that he would've killed more people."
