Colorado firefighter rescues baby deer from Black Forest wildfire

BLACK FOREST, Colo. - A firefighter rescued a baby deer from one of the wildfires raging in Colorado.

KSHB Scripps sister station KMGH  had the only television camera rolling as the firefighter carried the fawn to safety outside the Black Forest Fire area.

KMGH wasn't able to talk with the firefighter because after handing the animal to another man, the firefighter ran to rejoin his team.

KMGH spoke to the man who was handed the deer. He said he was trying to enter the evacuated area to help with the evacuation of an animal sanctuary, but was not allowed to reenter the area.

He was tasked with driving the deer to a safe haven instead.
