Two bodies found in De Soto not connected

DE SOTO, Kan. - At around 8 a.m. Wednesday, deputies found the body of a white man in late '20s behind the car port of an apartment complex off of Lexington Ave and Ottawa street.

Throughout the day, law enforcement collected evidence including towing away two cars-- a sports coupe and a SUV.

The sheriff's department said there is no connection between the body found Wednesday morning and the one found Tuesday.

Deputies are reassuring the people who live in the area that they are not in any danger.

"What we can say is that people should not be afraid, we're working this we'll come to a resolution on it," Master Deputy Tom Erickson said. "Our concern isn't that the community is at risk. If it was, we would have taken other steps to protect the community."

The identity of the man found Wednesday will remain unknown until an autopsy is performed later this week.
