Belton student threatened at bus stop

BELTON, Mo. - The Belton Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a person that allegedly threatened a student at a bus stop Tuesday morning.

According to a news release from Detective Sergeant Brad Swanson, a student was waiting to catch the bus near S. Scott and Cambridge around 6:30 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up next to him and made a threatening gesture.

The driver is described as being a white male between 30 and 40 years old with a blonde beard and muscular build. He was said to be driving an older silver Honda four-door with rust near the passenger tire.

Belton School District officials said they have placed an "all-call" alert to students, parents and staff about the incident.
