Vandals hit Time Warner Cable poles, cause 12-hour service outage

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Vandals cut fiber from a pole Tuesday night, cutting Time Warner Cable service to business and residential customers for about 12 hours.

Time Warner spokesman Matt Derrick says the vandals hit several locations between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Derrick said cable and internet services were affected, but an automated message on their customer service line said phone lines were also down during the outage.

Service was restored sometime around 8:30 a.m., Derrick said. The customers affected were those south of the river and north of 31st Street
