Forward Laurence Bowers will miss at least two games for Mizzou after spraining MCL in right knee

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri Tigers will be without senior forward Laurence Bowers for at least two games.

Mizzou Director of Strategic Communications Dave Reiter announced Wednesday morning that Bowers suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during the team's 84-68 victory against Alabama on Tuesday night.

Bowers had 16 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots against the Crimson Tide. He left the game in the final five minutes when he appeared to knock knees in the lane.

Wednesday's MRI revealed no damage to the ACL or bone in Bowers' right knee. He will be out for Saturday's game at Mississippi and Mizzou's home game on Jan. 16 against Georgia. Bowers will be re-evaluated at the end of next week. Ole Miss is second in the SEC with an 11-2 record but Georgia is just 6-7 overall.

Bowers leads Missouri with 16.9 points per game. He's also second on the team in rebounds with 6.9 per game. Bowers missed all of last season after tearing the ACL in his left knee during early season workouts.
