Phil Pressey to leave Mizzou, enter NBA draft

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri junior guard Phil Pressey will skip his final season in Columbia and enter the NBA draft, the team announced Wednesday.

Pressey is Mizzou's career leader in assists (580) and steals (196).

Pressey signed Wednesday with the agency CAA Sports (Creative Artists Agency).

"Many college basketball players dream of this day, but when I had to finally make this decision it was difficult because it means I am leaving a place I love so much," Pressey said.

Pressey said he valued the two years he in which he played for Missouri head coach Frank Haith.

"He had such a big impact on my career," Pressey said, "and because of that relationship I will help Missouri Basketball anyway I can going forward."

Haith called Pressey's decision bitter sweet because he and the program care so much about him, "but I know how much research he and his family have done and I support that 100 percent."

Pressey finished 2012-13 at 13th in the country in assists, including a 19-assist, 19 point performance in a loss at UCLA.
