Chiefs top running backs will flip the switch Thanksgiving night at the Plaza Lighting Ceremony

Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles to share the honor

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles share running back duties and will be together to turn on the Plaza Lights.

The Chiefs top rushers will join thousands of fans Thanksgiving for the 81st annual Plaza Lighting Ceremony.

The program begins at 6 p.m. from a stage in front of XXI Forever store at Nichols Road and Wyandotte Streets on the east side of the Country Club Plaza.

The program will feature The Dave Stephens Band playing holiday favorites, finalists from the KC Superstar singing competition and dancers from the Miller Marley Studio.

The lights will be turned on at 6:50 p.m. and fireworks begin just after from the main stage and the InterContinental Hotel.

The Plaza lights began with just 16 lights over a doorway and have grown to 80 miles of wires with 280,000 lights on buildings through the shopping district.

Plaza garages will be open that night.

The ceremony is free.
