KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Mo. may have some of the most passionate sports fans in the country, but Forbes magazine says it's among the worst sports cities in America.
According to Forbes , Kansas City ranks No. 7 on the list of cities that continue to let their fans down.
This year, the Royals are making a comeback in the second half of the season. They are still in the hunt for the American League wildcard and have won 11 of their last 12 games. This puts them in a great position to surprise the entire city.
However, the fact remains that the Royals haven't won a playoff game in 28 years (1985). This is the longest drought of any professional sports team in America.
The Chiefs are in a similar boat. It's been since 1993 that team won a playoff game.
With the Chiefs and the Royals combined, fans have been subjected to 48 years without a promising playoff win.
Fans are looking for a light at the end of the tunnel and this year might just be it.
Forbes magazine lists Seattle No. 1 on the list of most miserable sports cities -- followed by Atlanta, Phoenix, Buffalo, San Diego and Cleveland.
