KANSAS CITY, Mo. - There's a summer freebie for kids that has area parents celebrating. Kids Bowl Free is a national program that offers pre-school and school-age children two free games of bowling per day during weekdays during this summer. Ward Parkway Lanes in Kansas City, Mo., is one of the local participating bowling centers.
Managers at Corporate Kids Daycare in Kansas City, Mo., brought about a dozen students ages 5 to 18 to Ward Parkway Lanes. The little ones just bowl in their socks.
Kevin Barnes, owner of Ward Parkway Lanes, said the programs helps introduce young people to the game of bowling and it's fun for the students.
"Kids interact with each other they come in and have a great time, gives them something to do gets them out from in front of a computer," said Barnes.
