Sporting KC defeats Colorado, pulls into tie for first place in MLS Eastern Conference

DENVER - Sporting KC defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-1 Saturday night in Denver.

Benny Feilhaber put Sporting on top in the 33rd minute with a goal. Colorado tied the game in the 78th minute, scoring on a goal from Edson Buddle.

Sporting took the lead for good in the 88th minute when Graham Zusi scored.

With the win, Sporting pulls into a three-way tie for first in the MLS Eastern Conference with the New York Red Bulls and Montreal Impact.

Next up for Sporting is a match with the Columbus Crew Saturday night at Sporting Park. The team will be without Zusi and Matt Besler. They are leaving the team for a few weeks to play for the U.S. national team.
