Once again, 41 Action News is partnering with Harvesters to hold our city-wide food drive for perishables. Fill the Fridge is back!

From Sept. 4-8, we'll collect food nearly-impossible to donate otherwise.

We'll be at five Price Chopper locations throughout the week, a different one each day.

Together we can help feed the hungry in Kansas City.

So SAVE THE DATE!

Here's where we'll be and when, so you can get it on your calendars:

Tuesday, Sept. 4 - 1030 W. 103rd Street, Kansas City, MO
Wednesday, Sept. 5 - 501 Commercial Drive, Bonner Springs, KS
Thursday, Sept. 6 - 1101 S. 7 Highway, Blue Springs, MO
Friday, Sept. 7 - 11700 W. 135th Street, Overland Park, KS
Saturday, Sept. 8 - 9717 N. Ash Avenue, Kansas City, MO

The majority of those served by Harvesters and its network of pantries are families with children -- children who may consider it a treat to have milk, or cheese or yogurt.

It's important to note: You have to buy your donations at the Price Chopper location where we are each day, because we must prove the food was never mishandled or allowed to reach an unsafe temperature.

If you can't make it to above locations you can make a monetary donation at any Kansas City Price Chopper.

If you can't make it to Price Chopper, you can donate through the Harvesters Virtual Food Drive.

Thanks to all who made this such a successful event last year, and to all of you who encouraged us to keep filling the fridge!
