It's one of the most important aspects in KC history. Executive director of the Jackson County Historical Society, Caitlin Eckard, hopes to spread that message and the word about an important upcoming jazz event at the Mutual Musicians Foundation. The evening celebrates this history of Kansas City jazz and such jazz greats as Bennie Moten, Charlie Parker and Count Basie.
