Third Street Social is putting an Irish twist on their dishes

KANSAS CITY, MO — Third Street Social i s putting an Irish twist on some of their signature dishes. Chef Don Dupin joins us to fill us in on what they were offering, how long the menu will run, and with a recipe for Guinness Steamed Mussels.

Guinness Steamed Mussels:
Ingredients:
· 1 oz clarified butter
· 1 tbls bacon bits
· 1 each – shallots, julienne
· 1 tsp – garlic, minced
· 1 qt p.e.i. mussels, cleaned
· 6 oz Guiness
· 2 oz heavy cream
· 2 tbl fresh parsley & thyme
· To taste – kosher salt & black pepper
· 1 oz. whole butter

Instructions:
Start pan with clarified butter, bacon, shallots, garlic to sweat. Add mussels, ½ herbs, Guinness. Cover for 3 minutes. Add cream, whole butter, rest of herbs, s&p. When butter has melted, place in bowl and serve. Serve with garlic buttered grilled baguette.
