When did you start working here?

August 10, 2016

Where else have you worked?

I come to Kansas City from Wichita, KS where I was the weekend evening anchor and spent my week covering stories for the evening news at KWCH 12. Before that I was the main anchor of CBS NewsChannel 5 in Cheyenne, WY where I enjoyed doing to live shows during Cheyenne Frontier Days and tried to stay warm during the cold and snowy winters.

Where did you go to college?

I attended the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, CO.

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?

I'm most proud of the stories I've done that have made a difference in people's lives. It is always amazing seeing how kind our communities are when they see someone is truly in need and to see strangers connect for the greater good of others.

What are you most proud of in your own life?

What I'm most proud of in my life is where I come from. I grew up on a farm in western Kansas and I couldn't be prouder of the town I grew up in, the people who shaped my life and the work ethic my parents taught me at a young age. I feel very blessed to have the upbringing I did and thank God every day for the people he has put in my life. I'm also extremely proud of my husband who has devoted his life to helping others as a firefighter and paramedic in Lawrence, KS. His passion for his job and the extra time he has devoted to it and the people of Lawrence is nothing less than amazing.

What do you love about living in the KC area?

The mid-west was where I was born and raised and I am so blessed to continue calling it home. Kansas City is such a lively city from the sports fans, to the music scene to the best BBQ in the country. I'm excited to get the chance to explore the area more in the years to come.

What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions?

I may get in trouble for this one, but I'm a big Broncos fan! Out in Western Kansas we are closer to Denver than Kansas City and living in Colorado during my college years really sealed the deal.

All-time favorites... (movies, shows, books, music)

I have a tough time picking favorites! I love any music by The Piano Guys. My husband proposed to me at my former station (KWCH 12) with "10 Thousand Years" played by the Piano Guys and it was the song I walked down the aisle to on the happiest day of my life. I'm a pretty big fan of super hero movies like Avengers and I've always loved Grease! I loved reading the Hunger Games series and similar fictional novels, but lately I've been getting into biographies and autobiographies like "I am Malala" and "Beautiful Boy" and similar books. I'd love any suggestions! My husband got me into watching "Game of Thrones" and we also watch "Parks and Rec" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". My personal favorite is "So You Think You Can Dance".
