KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Big events in Kansas City, Missouri, came to a grinding halt on March 12, 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic canceled the Big 12 Championships, one day after the conference announced plans to prohibit fans, at what now is known as the T-Mobile Center.

Nearly a year later, the first big events are returning inside the downtown arena.

Disney on Ice opens on Thursday at the T-Mobile Center with a host of protocols to protect guests amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Feld Entertainment shared its enhanced health and safety measures with 41 Action News, which include:

  • Limited capacity
  • Seating pods to enforce social distancing
  • Masks for everyone ages 2 and older
  • Increasing sanitation efforts, including sanitizer and social distancing at T-Mobile Center
  • Touch-free payment and digital purchase options
  • Pre-ordering and pickup inside the arena

They are asking guests to check their temperatures before coming to the event. Anyone who has a temperature of 100.4 or higher is asked to stay home and take advantage of Feld Entertainment’s flexible ticket policy.

This is not only an event organizers hope will be fun for families, but an opportunity for local businesses and contractors to return to work doing what they love most.
