KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Big 12 conference voted Tuesday not to follow the lead of the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences in canceling fall sports.

During an evening conference call, the presidents from Big 12 schools decided to continue "to pursue playing this season," according to a report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.

The vote puts the league in the same camp as the SEC and ACC, which both released statements Tuesday that they will continue to evaluate data in hopes of playing football and other fall sports this season.

Thamel also reported that a football schedule has been prepared and "will be released in the near future."

Earlier Tuesday, presidents from the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences decided to cancel fall sports.

The Pac-12 has postponed all sports through the end of the year, which will impact the beginning of the winter sports seasons as well.
