KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As the Kansas City Chiefs add new players to their roster, all are eager to work with Super Bowl LIV MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele addressed the media Tuesday stating he was shocked by what his new quarterback can do on the field.

“It’s been crazy man, it’s been crazy seeing him at practice just casually throwing the ball 70 yards, just like flipping it, that’s been crazy to see. He’s got a lot of talent," Osemele said.

Osemele has been with the Chiefs less than a week. He spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, three with the Oakland Raiders and one year with the New York Jets before coming to Kansas City.

When he got the call, Osemele said he was unable to control his excitement, posting to social media right away.

“I was pretty exited, I was fired up. Obviously the first thing I thought of was playing with Mahomes, and then I accidentally leaked his phone number because I was on Instagram and did a video and it had his number out there and I had to take it down real quick but I was so excited I didn’t even think about it," Osemele said.

Another newcomer, running back DeAndre Washington, may be new to the Chiefs organization but he's not new to Mahomes. Washington played the Chiefs eight times as an Oakland Raider and in college, he was a Red Raider and played two seasons with Mahomes at Texas Tech University.

“His practice film is more scary than his game film, he’s kind of just winging it and doing what he wants to do and on the practice field he’s got some pretty exciting plays, you know he’s just, some guys you play with just got the it factor and he’s one of those guys, and he’s able to make plays that most guys can’t make and he did that in high school, he did that in college and he’s still doing it now," Washington said Tuesday.

As training camp gets underway, Washington says he's eager to find his spot on the offense.

“It’s an exciting time right now, coming off a Super Bowl win, so you know guys are definitely very excited, very confident which I love and I’m looking to come in and compete and show what I can do and make my mark on this offense," Washington said.
