SAN ANTONIO -- On Saturday it will be the Big 12 Player of the Year versus the Associated Press National Player of the Year.

When the Kansas Jayhawks and Villanova Wildcats take the floor Saturday night in San Antonio, the teams will feature two point guards who are not only talented, but are fans of each other.

"I've said this plenty of times, I just know how great of a player he is to be able to do what he's done through his career," said Villanova junior guard Jalen Brunson. "His career has been fun to watch."

"He does a lot of things well. He knows how to get his show and make plays for others," said KU senior guard Devonte' Graham of Brunson. "I keep saying he's unique because he can also post guys up."

The coaches of both teams echo the players as well.

"They're terrific players," said KU head coach Bill Self. "But their intangibles are even better than their abilities."

"I know Jalen loves a challenge," said Villanova head coach Jay Wright. "I think part of the challenge is not getting caught up in it and I really hope he doesn't."

KU plays Villanova Saturday night at approximately 7:49 pm.
