KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hunter Dozier was part of the final three, but that's as close as he got.
The Royals third baseman was in line to be the American League's starting third baseman in the MLB All-Star Game, but in a vote of the final three at the position, the Astros' Alex Bregman will get the nod.
The All-Star starters were announced Thursday evening as part of the second phase of the All-Star vote.
Dozier can still make the game as a reserve. Full rosters will be announced Sunday. The All-Star Game is July 9th in Cleveland.
