KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There could be a #22 roaming the Chiefs secondary this season. Just not that #22.

No, Marcus Peters is gone for good, but new cornerback Orlando Scandrick has Peters' number. Not that he cares.

"At this point, it's not really about which number. It's about getting here and learning and trying to contribute any way I can," said Scandrick Tuesday before Chiefs practice.

Scandrick said there are only so many coverages you can employ and after being in the league for 10 years, he's seen them all. It's just about learning the Chiefs' terminology.

And the learning curve is one of the reasons he chose the Chiefs so quickly after being released by the Redskins.

"From the West Coast, the logistics of things were great for my family," said Scandrick. "And like I said, Coach Reid is phenomenal."

Scandrick will be on the field Saturday when the Chiefs play at the Bears.
