KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Kansas football team will not face off against the University of Texas this Saturday.

The game, scheduled to be played in Lawrence, was canceled after positive COVID-19 tests among the Texas crew.

The Big 12 Conference has declared the game “no contest” as it will not be rescheduled.

The game was to be Kansas’ last of the season.

“I am very disappointed our team won’t get another chance to compete this season, but unfortunately that is out of our control,” head coach Les Miles said. “With our season complete, I would be remiss not to recognize our student-athletes and staff for diligently following the medical guidelines set for them this year. I am very proud of their efforts and proud to be the head coach of this football team.”
