KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Student-athletes in Liberty Public Schools will be able to play winter sports in front of fans.
LPS said in a tweet Tuesday that the Clay County Public Health Center approved the district’s request for a “limited number of spectators at winter sports events.”
Two spectators per athlete will be allowed beginning at Tuesday night's boys basketball game against Fort Osage, according to the Liberty High School athletics department.

Athletic departments at the middle and high school levels will provide information at a later date.
Last month, Clay County offered three options for districts to allow winter sports to proceed:
- Offer winter sports in the spring.
- Students involved in winter sports must take courses remotely.
- Offer winter sports as scheduled, but with COVID-19 precautions in place.
