NFL bans on-field pyrotechnical displays

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs fans have grown accustomed to the bursts of flames that mark the pregame ceremony.

But after an incident last Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, the NFL has put a temporary ban on such displays.

Teams can still use fireworks and other pyrotechnic displays as long as they’re kept away from the playing surface.
