KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sunday's Sporting KC road match at Colorado Rapids has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Major League Soccer announced that Sporting Kansas City's regular-season match with the Colorado Rapids set for Sunday, Sept. 27, at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park has been postponed to a later date.

One player and three staff members of the Colorado Rapids organization have confirmed COVID-19 tests on Sept. 24 and 25.

Based on the number of positive tests, MLS postponed the match to allow for additional testing and evaluation.

A new date for the rescheduled match has not yet been announced.

Sporting KC returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 3, when the team travels to Houston to take on the Dynamo at BBVA Stadium in Texas.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
