Brett Veach has been named general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt made the announcement on Monday. Veach is the seventh general manager in the franchise's history. He joined the team after spending six years with the Philadelphia Eagles, from 2007-2012.

Veach is a bit of a mystery to Kansas City fans and he's not talking for a couple weeks. So we went out and found a guy who not only knows Veach, but is also always talking: Mitch Holthus, voice of the Chiefs.

Mitch discusses Veach's past, his track record in KC, and job priority #1 as GM. Plus, we stoke the fire of Mitch's true passion, mascots.

Positions with the Chiefs:

  • Pro and College Personnel Analyst, 2013-2014
  • Co-Director of Player Personnel prior to the 2015
