Alicia Nieves

National Correspondent

Alicia Nieves is a National Correspondent for the E.W. Scripps Company, based in New York City. New York is where she grew up and it is where she worked directly with the PIX11 News team, before joining the Scripps National team. Alicia worked previously in Philadelphia, where she covered major events, from both of Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trials to the Philadelphia Eagles’ historic Super Bowl win.

With the Scripps National team, Alicia has spent a considerable time traveling the country and digging into issues that concern 2020 voters. When the pandemic struck in the U.S., she pivoted to focus on consumer and business news, finding stories that would help many people trying to understand and survive an economic downturn in the midst of a pandemic.

When she is not turning a story, Alicia is still working. She is currently finishing up her M.B.A. through Rutgers University. Alicia already holds a master’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University’s prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Communication and a bachelor’s degree in Radio & Television from the University of Central Florida.

If she manages to find an extra moment outside of reporting and class, you can find her with family. She comes from a very large Puerto Rican family, who loves to spend quality time together. Typically, that time involves a good meal and a lot of laughs.

Quality journalism, that has the ability to help viewer or shed light on an important issue, matters to this reporter. Anyone with a news tip, or anyone who would like to get updates on her reporting, you can follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
