Ariel Rothfield

Reporter

I love connecting with you on social media, and you can find me lots of places:

Ariel Rothfield can be reached at ariel.rothfield@kshb.com.

When did you start working here?
In September of 2015

Where else have you worked?
Before joining the 41 Action News Team, I spent two years in Charleston, WV working as a reporter for WOWK-TV. Prior to that, as part of my college's journalism residency program, I spent a couple months braving a very cold winter in Fargo, North Dakota as a reporter for KVRR-TV.

Where did you go to college?
Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?
I love when a viewer comes up to me and tells me I made an impact with my story. I think that's what reporting is all about!

What are you most proud of in your own life?
My parents always told me "work hard and it will pay off,' and it has. I am so fortunate that I do what I love, especially since I've wanted to be a reporter ever since I was 5-years-old! (Yes, I do have home videos of me putting on my own newscasts when I was very little.) Determination, courage and a full heart have enabled me to go after and accomplish all that I have... and I am very proud of that!

What do you love about living in the KC area?
What's there not to love? Everyone is so kind, there is so much to do and it is absolutely beautiful! Of course, it's also a sports city and every so often my beloved Dolphins do play a game here!

What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions?
I absolutely love walking around the Plaza and Crossroads areas. Loose Park is my favorite place to run but I am still exploring and would love more suggestions!

All-time favorites... (movies, shows, books, music)
My two all-time favorite movies are 'You've Got Mail' and 'My Best Friend's Wedding.' I enjoy a good crime show and anything on 'Bravo' and the 'Food Network' channel.

Other than KSHB.com and 41 Action News, you get your news from...
