What A Wreck started when lead singer Kyle Ward was looking to form a new band after a few years of being inactive and reached out to drummer Jonny Brack through social media. Ward and Brack‘s old bands had performed together throughout their teenage years, but the two had never performed in bands together. They had originally intended to find more members to fill in their roster, but after developing a unique sound and chemistry they decided to remain a two-piece utilizing a computer to achieve a more full live sound.
