Play On KC is a benefit concert to benefit musicians in crisis, primarily a healthcare crisis. The brainchild of Scotty McCormick, a local musician who knows the need firsthand. In 2016, Scotty was hit with acute pancreatitis. A life-threatening illness that resulted in multiple stays in the hospital and life-saving surgery. In his recovery, he couldn't support himself with solely his music income.
The KC Blues Society and Midwest Music Foundation stepped up to provide him the financial support he needed to recover and get back on his musical feet. Now he and Chris Meck share details on an event to help give back.
