KCAT’s new version of “Dracula” is a world-premiere adaptation that was written just for KCAT by Mitch Brian, a screenwriter and professor at UMKC. It is a co-production with the UMKC Theatre Department. The team has made some interesting adjustments to what people might expect from “Dracula,” including some gender switches and ethnically-diverse casting. It’s important to note that there will only be 11 performances between October 12 and 21. They will also be hosting a blood drive with the Community Blood Center of KC from 3-7 pm today, October 12, before the first public performance.
