From chefs to a bar, the Kansas City area is well represented in the James Beard Foundation's semi-finalist list. The award, which is the equivalent of a culinary Oscar, will be handed out in May.
Jonathon Bush from Manifesto hopes to be on the receiving end of the award in the Outstanding Bar Program category.
- 1 ½ oz Rieger’s Midwestern Dry Gin
- ¾ oz lemon
- ¾ oz vanilla syrup
- 4 drops bittermens orange cream citrate
- Egg white
- Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale
Combine all ingredients, except for Tank 7, in shaker without ice and shake vigorously to emulsify. Add ice, and shake for 15 sec. Strain into highball without ice. Top with Boulevard Tank 7.
