Manifesto mixes its James Beard-nominated libations

They have been nominated for a James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program. Manifesto's Ryan Maybee shows us how to mix up two popular drinks.

Queen of Hebrides

  • 1 ½ oz Rieger’s Gin
  • 1/2 oz Pear Eau de Vie
  • ½ oz Dry Vermouth (Dolin or Noilly Prat works best)
  • ½ oz Dolin Blanc

 

Stir over ice in mixing glass until well chilled.  Strain into chilled coupe, no ice.  With a mist of lemon peel-infused Laphroaig 10.

 

Gold Rush

  • 2 oz Rieger’s KC Whiskey
  • ¾ oz lemon
  • ¾ oz honey syrup (1:1)

 

Combine all ingredients with ice in cocktail shaker.  Shake vigorously and double strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with flamed orange zest
