It’s National Pigs in a Blanket Day and you better believe we are going to celebrate! Grill Mayor, Craig Jones shares his special recipe for the occasion.

Pigs in a Grilled Cheese Blanket

  • 2 slices of your favorite bread
  • 1 good quality hotdog (all beef) sliced lengthwise and grilled
  • 2 oz. grated gouda cheese
  • 4 Tablespoons of mayonnaise (do not use reduced fat or fat free)

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread the mayonnaise evenly on all 4 sides of the bread.
  3. Layer one slice of bread with grilled hot dog slices and the cheese.
  4. Place the remaining slice of bread on top of the other slice and press together.
  5. Place one side of the sandwich in the preheated (medium heat) non-stick skillet.
  6. Cook until each side is golden brown, and the cheese has melted, about 2 minutes a side.
