February is American Heart Month. Heart disease is the #1 killer of Americans and is 80% preventable. One of the ways to prevent heart disease is through diet and limited sodium. On average only a small percentage of the salt consumed comes from the salt shaker. Often times, the biggest culprit is processed foods and the “Salty Six” – bread, cured meats, sandwiches, pizza, soup and chicken.
