Trago Bar and Tapas combines authentic tapas and warm hospitality. Chef and Owner Kandi Kerns, along with her daughter and Sous Chef Alexandria Snavely, discuss how Trago got started, based on the Latin dishes of Kandi’s grandmother. We’re also discussing their delicious food options, specialty cocktails and live entertainment.

Grilled Shrimp Tacos
Prepare the shrimp (best when prepared and marinated the night before)
5 Shrimp shelled and deveined per person

Shrimp Marinade:
4 cups of water
The stems (whole) from cilantro used for slaw dressing
Add the juice of 1 orange

Slaw Dressing:
1 Cup finely chopped cilantro (Keep the stems and use to marinate shrimp)
2 Scallions (green onions) thinly sliced, include greens and whites
1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 Cup Cider Vinegar
1/2 Cup Honey
1 TBS Cotija Cheese (Parmesan will work too!)
Salt/Pepper to taste
Whisk all ingredients together and combine with 1 finely sliced/diced Napa & 1/2 a small purple cabbage
Add 1/4 Cup diced red pepper

Grill the tortillas & shrimp
Place tortillas, then add the slaw, top with the grilled shrimp

Paloma cocktail:
Rim glass with chili lime salt & fill with ice
1.5 oz Silver Tequila
1 oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
Top with Squirt
