'Pride & Prejudice & Zombies' remixes Austen

The title says it all. This movie is very much just Pride and Prejudice with zombies thrown in, and it works.

The movie is based on the 2009 book by the same name, written by Seth Grahame-Smith and based on the classic Jane Austen novel.

I read the book and enjoyed it, but seeing it come to life on the screen was so much better.

When the movie begins, we're told a story of how the zombie plague spread through England and has now pitted the living with the undead. The Bennet sisters are not only ladies, but also fighters who have been trained to take down any zombie within arm’s reach.

It's a fun twist to an otherwise old story.

The basic elements of Pride and Prejudice are there. Elizabeth is a strong-willed woman who refuses to marry for the sake of it. Mr. Darcy is the same character, but he happens to be a pretty top-notch zombie killer.

Their relationship, how they meet and eventually fall in love is all there but in slightly different circumstances.

One of my favorite things about the classic Pride and Prejudice story is their love story, and it is very much there in the movie.

What I think this film did really well was the casting. My favorite was Matt Smith's performance as Mr. Collins. There have been many installments of this character, and I would say his is the most fun. He stole many scenes.

I also enjoyed Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey as Lady Catherine de Bourgh. In this film she is not just some important lady, she's also a skilled zombie killer with an eye patch. It's the minor changes like that that make this film so enjoyable.

The action and the zombies were pretty good too.

They are not the zombies we are used to. Instead of being shuffling corpses looking for brains, they are more human-like, able to speak, think and even set up traps.

Overall, although it is ridiculous, this movie is way more enjoyable than you would think. I recommend it for those looking for something a little different and fun.

This movie is rated PG-13 for violence, action and some suggestive moments.
