Where else have you worked?
I worked at KQ2 in St. Joseph, Missouri, for two years before moving to Omaha, Nebraska, in 2023, where I spent three years at WOWT. In college, I interned at KSNT in Topeka, Kansas.
Where did you go to college?
The University of Kansas. Rock Chalk!
What are you most proud of when it comes to your work?
I’m beyond grateful to have such an interesting, challenging, and rewarding job. I have grown immensely both as a person and a meteorologist throughout my career. I still learn something new every day! The best part of my job, though, is the people I get to work with. I’m so thankful for all of the relationships I’ve built with the KSHB team and with coworkers from previous jobs, many of whom have become lifelong friends.
What are you most proud of in your own life?
I was born and raised in Kansas City, so getting to work at the news station I grew up watching is truly a dream come true. I’m also so proud of my incredible husband and the life we’ve built together. We recently made our way back to Kansas City, where we’re putting down roots with our three cats and are lucky to be close to so many of our family and friends.
What do you love about living in the KC area?
Kansas City is home! I love the people here, and the weather is always interesting.
What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions?
You can often find me working out at Orangetheory. I also love going to farmers' markets, both in Overland Park and at the River Market, and walking at Meadowbrook Park. I’m a huge KU basketball fan! I enjoy visiting the Nelson-Atkins Museum and finding new places to get coffee.
All-time favorites... (movies, shows, books, music)
I love shows and movies that make me laugh. I’m a big fan of SNL, and watching sitcoms like Friends, New Girl, and Parks and Rec. Ted Lasso is another favorite. Anchorman is my all-time favorite movie. I’m always listening to a new audiobook, and I listen to a wide variety of music, but mostly a mix of pop and indie pop. EDM music is my go-to when I’m working out. I also love listening to podcasts. My favorites are Good Hang with Amy Poehler and Stuff You Should Know.
