RECIPE: Award-winning Oscar party snacks

Hotel Sorella's Chef Charles d’Ablaing shared some of his tasty recipes for snacks that are perfect an Oscar party.

Lollipop Lamb Chops

  • 2 racks of lamb, frenched
  • 2 tbls. Ground black pepper
  • 1 tbls. Kosher salt
  • 2 tbls. Vegetable oil
  • Heat large sautéed pan on medium heat and sear the fat side of the rack in the oil until well caramelized
  • Roast at 375 for 10 minutes
  • Let rest then cut individual chops, arrange and serve.

Crab Cake Stuffed Shrimp

  • 10 large shrimp, butterflied
  • 4 oz. lump crab
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbls. Red onion, small dice
  • 1 tbls. Chives, chopped
  • 1 tbls. Butter
  • 1/2 cup white wine

Mix together the crab, mayonnaise, bread crumbs, egg, chives and onion and form into 10 balls. Place the crab balls under the tail of the shrimp and rap around.

Place in a baking dish with the wine and butter and bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until shrimp is cooked. Arrange the stuffed shrimp on a serving dish and pour the sauce from the pan over it and serve.

Remember to season everything with salt and pepper!
