A group of business leaders in Kansas City knew they wanted to do something special this holiday season.
However, they might not have expected to make the large impact they did- at least not so quickly.
It was just last week when Jennifer Nussbeck (J & N Partners) and Phil LeVota (The Law Offices of Phil LeVota) saw this story air on 41 Action News, pushing them further towards starting a brand new local nonprofit that will help those in need around the holidays.
They started their campaign in KCMO on Wednesday with a project they’re calling ‘Christmas Angels.’
“I think part of it is to give but on the other hand we hope to inspire people. Paying it forward without expecting anything back is a big part of what we wanted to do today,” said Nussbeck.
Several ‘Angels’ from Nussbeck’s and LeVota’s offices, including those with Aspen Contracting, teamed up and surprised people throughout the city Wednesday.
Whether it be handing out money to those at The Salvation Army, paying for lunch at McDonald’s or buying everyone’s family dinner at the local grocery store, thousands of dollars were handed out to families the Angels felt could use the kind gesture.
The goal is that projects like Christmas Angels will continue to grow in order to support Nussbeck and LeVota’s new non-profit, ‘S.O.S. Foundation.’
