Motivation Monday: EverFit morning cycling

You know the Energizer Bunny, right?

Constantly moving. Always active. Burning tons of calories!

Well, he’d feel right at home at EverFit in Shawnee, Kansas.

There is always something happening at EverFit, from personal training to cycling to weights.

Owner, Dawn Rattan, says Mondays are key.  Her fitness philosophy includes the mantra, “Never Miss A Monday!”

If you start the week that way, you are more likely to keep it going. Dawn also believes in setting yourself up for success.

Don’t start with a goal of working out five or six or seven days a week.  Aim for three days a week.

Find a workout you actually like…cycling, weights, etc.

She also has self-tested tips for making that early morning class:

  • Lay out your clothes the night before.
  • Workout and carpool with friends so you hold each other accountable.
  • Get good solid shut-eye.
  • Remember your goals: looking and feeling your best for vacations, holidays, reunions.
  • And, if all else fails, a little caffeine to get you moving.

There are lots of fun options at EverFit including Salad Jar Parties, like the one scheduled for Tuesday, November 16.

Here’s the idea:

  • Everyone brings some mason jars.
  • Everyone brings one salad ingredient.
  • Then, you build a salad from the bottom up: Dressing followed by hard veggies followed by whatever you like and topped off with kale or lettuce.

Now, the work of eating right just got easier and more manageable.

There’s a sign at EverFit that says your good mood is just one workout away. That’s a pretty decent motivator, right there!
