#MotivationMonday: High-flying workout at Lucia Aerial Performing Arts in Leawood

Posted

Up, up and away!

Call it the superhero workout!

Lucia Aerial Performing Arts at Town Center in Leawood, Kansas really gets your week off the ground.

Founder and performer, Jenny Prohaska, says their high-flying mission is to give folks who walk through the door a chance to use aerial and acrobatic techniques to get fit, stay strong and accomplish things they never thought possible.

The workouts on aerial silks-Jenny’s Mother calls them “curtains”- and Lyra (the hoop) and trapeze, strengthen the body’s core and improve balance and coordination.

Every age and fitness level can find something to accomplish at Lucia.

Currently, they have students and performers from age eight to mid-50s.

The first step puts you on the silks -- close to the padded mats.  But, before long, you can be floating high in the air.

The performance side of Lucia puts these aerialists in front of crowds several times a year but the work-out aspect goes on nearly every day.

Lucia Aerial Performing Arts really does take your workout to a whole new level.
