Northland Fountain creates unique ice sculptures in winter

The Northland Fountain is located at North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road.

The fountain is also known as the “Spirit of Cooperation” because money for construction was raised through efforts of both the public and private sector.

It was dedicated in 1983.

The Northland Fountain is one of three Kansas City Parks and Rec fountains that stays on year-round.

The water freezes in the winter, creating unique ice sculptures.
