1 man killed in overnight shooting near 19th, Kensington

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person died in an apparent homicide overnight near East 19th Street and Kensington Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.

KCPD officers responded to the area just after 3 a.m. on a reported shooting and located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds just east of the intersection.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Police identified the shooting victim Monday as 29-year-old Rontez Stephens.
