1 dead in Platte County house fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is dead following what the Platte County Sheriff’s Office is calling a suspicious fire.

The sheriff’s office and Weston police responded around 1:59 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire in the 600 block of Prospect Street in Weston.

Timothy Darby, 60, of Weston, was found dead in the home, according to a news release.

Detectives are speaking to a person of interest, the release stated.

West, South and Central Platte fire departments assisted at the scene, along with Missouri State Fire Marshals, West Platte and NRAD ambulance services and the Camden Point and Dearborn fire departments.
